E-SCOOTERS! |
||
|
Hello all
Just a periodic reminder about the use of E-Scooters.
It's so simple, you can only ride them on private land with the landowner's permission.
When the police seize them you will not be able to get them back.
Just one more thing, sometimes you may see an E-Scooter whizz past a police car and you're expecting to have front row seats to see something out of Police Interceptors or the Sweeney and then nothing happens and the police car disappears and you're annoyed because they haven't done anything and you've bought popcorn for nothing, well, there is a very good reason for this and that is primarily the safety of other road users, pedestrians, the rider themselves and the officers. The officers have to make a dynamic risk assessment before any type of ‘pursuit’ is considered and as the saying goes, ‘there’s more than one way to crack an egg' and one of those ways is to identify the rider through other means and then pay them a visit at home and seize the scooter!
So, please don't think that we're not bothered because we very much are.
Thank you Steve.
