Vehicle Crime

We have seen a recent spike in vehicle crime in the area, with opportinist thieves trying door handles to find vehicles that have been left unlocked. Even if nothing appears to be on display, an unlocked vehicle can quickly become a target.

Please help protect your vehicle by:

Always locking your vehicle, even when parked at home.

Checking the doors are secure rather that relying solely on the key fob.

Removing all valuables from your vehicle, including bags, wallets, mobile phones and tools.

Keeping keys out of sight and away from doors and windows. Keep keys inside faraday bags, which prevents theieves intercepting your key fob.

Parking in well-lit, busy areas where possible.

Reporting any suspicious activity or individuals trying vehicle door handles to the police immediately.

A few simple precautions can significantly reduce the risk of becoming a victim of vehicle crime. Please share this advice with family, friends and neighbours to help keep our community safe.
