We wanted to share a quick update about dangerous driving in your area. Please be assured we’re working to keep everyone safe. Today, officers from the Tooting Safer Neighbourhood Teams joined forces for a traffic enforcement operation on Garratt Lane, SW17.
We would like to thank our Roads and Transport Policing colleagues for their support, including the use of a speed enforcement camera and specialist pursuit capabilities to safely deal with any vehicles attempting to evade police.
Keeping Tooting’s roads safe remains a priority. The operation focused on identifying driving offences and disrupting criminality on our roads, including those who use the road network to travel to, from, or through the area to commit offences. Following community feedback, officers stopped and checked a number of delivery drivers to ensure they held the correct insurance and were complying with road traffic legislation.
During the operation: 50 vehicles were stopped and drivers spoken to 3 arrests were made 5 tickets issued for traffic related matters 1 vehicle was seized
We will continue to carry out proactive operations across Tooting to tackle offending and improve road safety for everyone in our community.
