Residential Burglary – There has been one report of attempt to residential burglary between 01 July 2026 and 09 July 2026.
On 06 July 2026, an attempt to residential burglary was committed on Barle Grove.
Theft of motor vehicle – There have been no reports of Theft of motor vehicle between 01 July 2026 and 09 July 2026.

Officers from the Smiths wood neighbourhood team are continuing to conduct proactive patrols and take preventative measures to tackle vehicle crime, across all Smiths wood, Kingshurst and Castle Bromwich.
Simple Steps to Keep Your Vehicle Safe –
Keyless ignition owners should use a Faraday pouch for their fob. All drivers should consider a steering lock, park in well – lit visible areas, lock their vehicle, remove valuables and ensure windows, sunroof, and wing mirrors are closed/ folded. Unfolded mirrors may signal an unlocked car to thieves.
What has been happening? Good news –
This week the Smiths Wood Officers have had the following arrests:
1 x arrest for breach of court order
1 x arrest for Failing to appear at Birmingham Magistrate
1 x arrest for shop theft and recall to prison
Smithswood NHT attended a Police Beat Surgery at St. Johns the Baptist as part of the awareness week around Anti-Social Behaviour.
This week, we also partnered with Traffic officers, DVLA and Licensing officers to stop several vehicles. Tickets were issued to drivers for different offences.
Local PCSOs attended a Police Beat Surgery this week at Elmwood Family Hub in Smithswood and spoke to the residents about any concerns that they may have.
Today, we attended the 70th Anniversary Celebration of Kingshurst Estate. Local authority, housing and community groups also attended along with the public and enjoyed lots of historical facts and images from Kingshurst back in the day..
