Local Priorities - Traffic Operation Update |
||
|
Good evening,
All our Putney Safer Neighbourhood Teams recently conducted a targeted traffic enforcement operation at the junction of Putney High Street and Putney Bridge Road.
The operation focused on tackling the use of illegal e-bikes, while also carrying out checks on scooters and other vehicles using the area.
As a result of the operation, officers seized a total of 13 vehicles:
During the course of the operation, one officer was injured when the rider of an e-bike failed to stop when directed by police.
We recognise the significant impact that illegal and dangerous vehicle use can have on local residents, businesses, and visitors. We take these offences seriously and will not tolerate dangerous or anti-social riding and driving on Putney High Street or elsewhere within the ward.
While it is not possible for officers to be present on the High Street at all times, when operational demands permit, they will continue to proactively target traffic offences and take robust action against those who place others at risk. Our commitment remains to keep the area safe and address the issues that matter most to our community.
Further operations of this nature are planned and will take place over the coming weeks.
Many thanks,
Acting Police Sergeant Gary Berry (Thamesfield and East Putney) | ||
