🚴‍♂️ Police Aware of Nuisance bikes in Sevenoaks Town Centre 🚴‍♂️

I am aware of ongoing reports regarding electric bikes being ridden antisocially in Sevenoaks town centre.

Over recent weeks, there have been sightings of groups of youths riding both electrically assisted pedal cycles and Sur-Ron style electric motorcycles in the town centre. Reports include riders performing wheelies, riding at speed amongst members of the public, wearing face coverings and being threatening or rude towards members of public.

Whilst many electric pedal bikes are used legally and responsibly, some are used in an antisocial manner and some of the vehicles being reported are believed to be electric motorcycles, which  require registration, insurance and a driving licence to be used lawfully on public roads. 

I am aware of the issues with these issues and will be carrying out extra patrols in identified hotspot locations. I am also working with partners and reviewing available evidence where offences are reported.

If you witness dangerous or antisocial use of electric pedal bikes or electric motorcycles, please report it. Information such as descriptions of riders, clothing, locations, times, photographs, or video footage can be extremely helpful in identifying those involved.
