To protect yourself, make sure you cover the keypad when entering your PIN number and keep your transaction discreet.
Once you have withdrawn your cash, place it securely into your wallet, purse, or bag straight away, rather than counting it in public.
Taking these simple precautions can help reduce the risk of becoming a victim of theft, distraction offences, or other opportunistic crimes.
