Here’s a quick update on drugs dealing crime in your area, please be reassured that we’re taking this seriously and are here to help. Over the past week, your local policing team has continued to work proactively to make our neighbourhoods safer and tackle the issues that matter most to residents.
As part of our ongoing policing activity, including work undertaken through Operation ADDER across the Homerton Sector, officers have been targeting those involved in drug-related crime, violence, anti-social behaviour, and acquisitive offences that have a direct impact on our communities. Over the last seven days, the team has:
Made 18 arrests for offences including shoplifting, burglary, violence, and drug-related offences. Issued 10 Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Warnings to individuals whose behaviour has negatively affected local residents. Conducted 10 stop and searches as part of our efforts to disrupt criminal activity and identify those carrying drugs, weapons, or stolen property.
The work being carried out by the team is making a real difference in keeping our area safe. Through high-visibility patrols, targeted enforcement, and Operation ADDER activity, we remain committed to tackling those who seek to engage in criminality, drug dealing, or anti-social behaviour within our neighbourhoods.
We will continue to take robust action against individuals who choose to commit offences or cause harm to our communities. However, we cannot do this alone and rely heavily on the continued support of local residents.
Information provided by the public is vital in helping us identify offenders, target hotspot locations, and take positive action. We encourage anyone with information regarding crime or anti-social behaviour in the area to come forward and report it to us. Thank you for your continued support. Together, we can continue to make Homerton and the surrounding areas safer places to live, work, and visit.
Drug dealing is often linked with violent crime and the exploitation of vulnerable people, and discarded drug equipment can be a health risk and counts as antisocial behaviour. We’ve put hundreds more officers on the frontlines of community crime-fighting teams, upping visible patrols in the right ‘hot spots’ so we can deter and catch criminals. We are committed to tackling drug dealing wherever we find it. It forms a key part of our recently published ASB Action Plan. We will keep you updated on our efforts to do this in your area, but if you have any concerns or evidence, it is important you report this as soon as possible. If you have experienced drug dealing in your area, please report it using our online reporting tools at https://www.met.police.uk or call the non-emergency number 101. Alternatively, you can stay 100% anonymous by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their untraceable online form at www.crimestoppers-uk.org |
