Man pleads guilty to multiple offences after drugs stop in Hertford |

A man is awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to drugs and weapon offences after being stopped in Hertford town centre by police. Daniel Thomas, aged 47 of Currie Street, Hertford, appeared at Hatfield Magistrates Court on Thursday (9 July) and pleaded guilty to charges of possession with the intent to supply Class A drugs (cocaine), possession of an offensive weapon, and the possession of criminal property. He will be sentenced at St Albans Crown Court on Friday 31 July. At around 2.30pm on Wednesday (8 July), Officers from the Hertford Neighbourhood Policing Team came across a grey Mini Cooper and with intelligence of it being linked to the supply of drugs, they stopped the vehicle. During a search of the driver and vehicle, officers recovered suspected Class A drugs, cannabis vape pens, cash, a knuckle duster and a mobile phone believed to have been used in the supply of drugs. Further enquiries led officers to execute a Section 18 search at the man's home address, where they uncovered a substantial quantity of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
