Flash and Peggy: Our new forensic evidence detection dogs

Congratulations to PD Flash and PD Peggy, who recently passed their Forensic Evidence Detection Dog course with flying colours alongside their handlers PC Stacey Polydore and PC Chris Morris.

Both dogs have already deployed to crime scenes, with PD Flash assisting a live investigation and detecting key evidence within hours of passing his course.

Forensic evidence detection dogs are specially trained to locate evidence that may otherwise remain hidden.

Flash’s handler PC Polydore said: “Flash is a never ending bundle of energy. I’ve had Flash since he was four months old, and he’s such a loving and amazing dog.

“He is so eager to please and has an amazing work ethic. I’m looking forward to being the best team we can be and helping to solve some of the most serious crimes”.

Peggy’s handler PC Morris said: “Peggy is such an incredible dog, she learnt what she needed to do so quickly and flew through the course.

“She’s thorough and determined and loves to work hard for her reward at the end. She’s an amazing dog and I’m looking forward to working with her.”
