🏇 York Races Showcase Weekend – Enjoy the Event Safely 🏇

With the York Races Showcase Weekend taking place this July, North Yorkshire Police would like to wish everyone attending a safe and enjoyable time.

Thousands of racegoers will be visiting York to enjoy the racing, socialise with friends, and make the most of what promises to be an excellent weekend. We are asking everyone to play their part in keeping themselves and others safe.

Please remember:

✅ Plan your journey to and from the racecourse in advance.
✅ If you are drinking alcohol, arrange alternative transport home such as a taxi, public transport, or a designated driver.
✅ Keep personal belongings, mobile phones, wallets and handbags secure and within sight at all times.
✅ Stay with friends where possible and look out for one another throughout the day and evening.
✅ Be respectful to local residents, businesses, and other visitors when travelling to and from the event.
✅ Report any suspicious activity or concerns to police officers or event staff.

🚗 Never drink and drive. If you are consuming alcohol, do not get behind the wheel. The consequences of drink-driving can be devastating and life-changing.

📱 If travelling home, ensure your phone is charged where possible and that you have transport arrangements confirmed before setting out.

Our officers will be patrolling throughout the event to help ensure everyone can enjoy the weekend safely.
