Hello Custom House! I hope you’re looking forward to the football tonight! If you’re reading this late, I have no doubt that we won, and you’re only just catching up on your emails now after a late night of celebratory shenanigans. Read on below for this week’s rundown on Custom House street crime.
Theft From a Vehicle Distraction Theft Theft of a Vehicle Threat with a Bladed Article That's everything for this week
A Quick Update on Last Week's Vehicle Thefts For those who saw the spike in thefts from vehicles last week (specifically the theft of disabled badges), I believe we have caught the guy. On Thursday, I detained a man who was waving a knife around and threatening people, and he is now in prison. After reviewing CCTV footage, we strongly believe this same individual is our thief. We are continuing our investigation to solidify the case. However, we believe he has an accomplice, so please remain alert—though I do expect these specific thefts to drop.
That’s everything for this week.
Be Good, Have Fun & Stay Safe, Did you know? Every crime has a specific legal definition, and each definition requires specific "points to prove" for that crime to be complete. Take Theft, for example: A person is guilty of theft if they dishonestly appropriate property belonging to another, with the intention of permanently depriving the other of it. To secure a conviction, we must prove that: If even one of those points cannot be proven, the case will not survive in court! | ||
