Community speed watch- could you help out?

During this national month-long road safety initiative (read more here) we recently visited the Community Speed Watch (CSW) team in Mulbarton to hear about their experiences, listen to their ideas and better understand both the successes they are achieving and some of the challenges they face.

CSW teams are volunteers who use approved equipment to monitor speeds in areas where this has been identified as an issue and record details of vehicles exceeding the limit. While they don’t issue fines or penalties themselves, they are part of a process designed to encourage drivers to think about their behaviour and make safer choices in the future.

Speeding is not the only road safety issue that needs tackling, but it is one of the most common, and a CSW offers valuable insight for officers to conduct further enforcements.
