PROJECT SPEAK SAFE
Our children are already talking about what makes them feel unsafe. Are we listening?Every child deserves to feel safe when walking to school, meeting friends, taking part in activities, or simply spending time in their community. However, not every issue that affects a young person's sense of safety is a crime. Sometimes it is a location, a group of people, repeated behaviour, or an environment that leaves them feeling uncomfortable, vulnerable, or afraid. Project Speak Safe has been developed to give young people a voice and ensure their experiences help shape a safer future. Rolling Out Across Bexley SchoolsProject Speak Safe is being introduced across schools in Bexley, creating an opportunity for young people to share concerns about their safety, their neighbourhoods, and the issues affecting them most. By listening to these experiences, police, schools, local authorities and safeguarding partners can better understand the challenges facing young people and take positive action where needed. Information Shared Through Project Speak Safe Can Help:✅ Identify locations where young people feel unsafe Why It MattersFor too long, there has been a stigma around speaking to the police and other professionals. Project Speak Safe aims to change that. We want young people to know that their voices matter and that sharing concerns can lead to meaningful action that improves safety for everyone. Together, We Can🛡️ Strengthen safeguarding Project Speak SafeListening to young people. Strengthening safeguarding. Building safer communities. This initiative is not a replacement for reporting crime. If a young person is a victim of crime or witnesses a crime, please continue to report it through normal police reporting channels. In an emergency, always call 999. | ||
