Here are some practical things you could do to reduce the risk of doorstep theft:ℹ️
• track your parcel and be at home for the delivery if you can • install a video doorbell, so you’re notified immediately of any deliveries. Video doorbells also deter thieves and capture evidence • when ordering, add instructions for a place the parcel can be left out of public view. Don’t put a note with these instructions on your front door • arrange for your parcel to be delivered to a trusted neighbour, or a local delivery locker • install a security light - ok, this is one for the darker evenings, but a well-lit space works as a deterrent to thieves
🤔 Remember, leaving a ‘back in five minutes’ note on your door is a bad idea, as it can act as an open invitation to burglars, alerting them that your home is empty - and for how long.
