Crime Prevention Alert – Fartown, Birkby, Marsh & Lindley

We have seen a recent increase in Theft From Motor Vehicles and Vehicle Interference offences across Fartown, Birkby, Marsh and Lindley.

We are asking all residents to remain vigilant and help protect their vehicles by taking a few simple precautions:

- Always lock your vehicle, even when parked outside your home.

- Double-check that doors, windows and sunroofs are fully secured before leaving your vehicle unattended overnight.

- Remove all valuables from your vehicle, including wallets, handbags, mobile phones, tools and electronic devices.

- Never leave bank cards in your vehicle, particularly those with contactless payment enabled.

- Avoid leaving items on display that could attract opportunist thieves.

Please keep an eye out for suspicious activity in your neighbourhood, including individuals:

• Loitering around parked vehicles

• Trying car door handles

• Looking into vehicles or acting suspiciously around driveways and car parks
