A 21-year-old man who seriously injured a teenage man in Corby after deliberately knocking him off his electric bike has been handed a 23-year extended sentence. On September 18, 2025, Alexandros Constantinou went looking for the 18-year-old victim and had parked near the parade of shops in Rockingham Road, lying in wait for him. When he spotted him riding out of a service road between the former Butterwick shop and Mini Sam shortly before 4.30pm, Constantinou turned his black BYD hire car around and drove it at speed in pursuit of the victim. Reaching speeds of 47mph along the short stretch of tarmac, Constantinou chased down the victim before hitting him with the car and colliding with a CCTV mast, knocking it down onto the top of the vehicle. Constantinou fled the scene on foot, leaving the teenage man with catastrophic head injuries, before being arrested at St Pancras International train station attempting to board a Eurostar train bound for Amsterdam. However, two weeks prior to the collision, Constantinou, previously of Torksey Close, Corby, made threats to shoot the victim’s mum and firebomb their family home via his Facebook account.
