Incident Update – 8 July 2026

In relation to the incident that occurred on 8 July 2026 on Old Church Road E4, during which an individual sustained serious injuries following a violent altercation involving a group known to one another, significant progress has been made in the investigation.

Following extensive enquiries, four individuals have been charged with a range of offences, including Violent Disorder, Affray, Possession of an Offensive Weapon, and Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH).

Due to the seriousness of the offences and the circumstances of the incident, the four defendants have been remanded into custody and are due to appear before the Crown Court.

This swift progression from incident to charge is testament to the diligent work of investigating officers and supporting teams. The Metropolitan Police remains committed to tackling serious violence and ensuring that those responsible for such offences are brought before the courts.

As criminal proceedings are now ongoing, it would be inappropriate to comment further on the details of the case at this time.
