Danson Park - ParkRun, Prince and all!

PC Savage-Knight and PCSO Demi James attended Danson Park run today to run a community engagement stall highlighting Violence against Women and Girls, publicise the end of Stamp of Spiking Week, along with  giving community Safety information.

We were not expecting to see Prince! Prince was running the Parkrun! When I say Prince, I mean Mark Sinclair who is fundraising by running a record number of national Parkruns dressed as Prince and carrying a guitar to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK, along with raising awareness. He is on his ‘Purple Rain Tour’ of ParkRuns currently. It must of been hot in all that purple crushed velvet!!

It was great to see Josh from the Bexley Council Community Safety Team out and running, and so many of the regulars that I have gotten to know so well.

ParkRuns are one of the great community success stories of our time. Long may they last.
