Burbage Police Weekly Update. JCB, Shoplifting And Are You Going On Holiday?

We hope you are well. Here is an update regarding crime and Police activity in Burbage this week. 

Reported Crime and Appeals

This week has seen reports of shoplifting, assault, traffic offences and safeguarding work. One arrest made relating to shoplifting whilst another suspect was arrested for other matters. We are also completing some positive work in relation to some recent graffiti in Burbage. We continue to work with officers in Hinckley, regarding the previous issues with motorbike and vehicle thefts/suspicious activity. 

Since our last update, we have received 29 calls to Police, 6 emergency and 4 priority calls. Concerns for safety and transport related issues feature heavily amongst these calls. 

Report received from Lutterworth Road where a JCB digger was stolen by suspects who damaged a gate to gain entry. The incident occurred between 14:00 on the 17th and 09:30 on the 18th. Patrols, Police Activity and local engagement

I visited the Three pots post office for our monthly beat surgery. Lots of engagement and conversations with residents. 

We continue to work with HBBC and housing providers to deal with reports of Cannabis use and neighbour disputes. The incremental approach has been used to address a range of reports involving not only youth related issues, but mainly adults at this time. 

We have been continuing our work regarding residential burglary prevention. We have been knocking doors and speaking to residents and offering support for crime reduction. Hopefully this work will reduce reports of this type of crime during the summer holidays and darker nights towards the end of the year. Crime prevention and issues to be aware of

Please continue to be mindful around home security and vehicle security throughout the school holidays, especially if you are going away.

As youth related issues can increase during the holidays, please provide as much detail as possible if you are reporting issues of anti-social behaviour or criminal damage. CCTV, photo's and details of those involved can really speed up our investigation and help provide you with a timely outcome.
