Community Alert: E-Scooter Safety and Concerns on Ross Road / Clyde Road |
||
|
Hello residents, We have recently received reports regarding young children riding around on electric scooters in the middle of the road around the junction of Ross Road and Clyde Road.
Local residents have raised serious concerns about safety, nothing that some riders are very young children riding two scooter, and traveling on the wrong side of the road during the evening hours. Our primary concerns is the safety of these young people and preventing any road traffic accidents.
As a reminder, it is illegal to ride privately owned e-scooters on public roads, pavements, or cycle lanes. They can only be used on private land with the landowner's permission.
Please ensure you know where your children are playing and what they are riding. If they have access to an e-scooter, please remind them of the legal restrictions and the severe dangers of riding them in live traffic.
Please exercise extra caution when driving around the Ross Road and Clyde Road area, particularly during the evening hours.
SNT will be conducting targeted patrols in the area to engage with riders, speak with parents, and keep our roads safe.
If you have any further information regarding ASB or dangerous scooter use in the area, please report it via the official Met Police website or call 101. Always dial 999 in an emergency.
Kind regards,
