Here’s a quick update on anti-social behaviour locally. We know it can be distressing, but we’re working closely with partners to make the area safer and support residents.

Your Safety Matters – Please Report Crime and Anti-Social Behaviour we noticing people are suffering in silence, lets nip it in the bud now.
Colville Safer Neighbourhood Team would like to remind residents that we take reports of anti-social behaviour, drug use, nuisance, violence and criminal activity seriously.
We understand that residents can sometimes feel intimidated by groups gathering outside communal entrances, in car parks, stairwells and communal areas. However, one of the biggest challenges we face is that many incidents are discussed between neighbours but are not reported to police.
Why Reporting Matters
Police can only deploy resources, apply for funding, target offenders and support requests for CCTV where there is evidence demonstrating a problem exists.
Every report helps build the intelligence picture and assists us in:
Identifying offenders.
Targeting problem locations.
Requesting additional patrols.
Supporting CCTV applications.
Working with housing providers.
Taking enforcement action against addresses linked to criminality and anti-social behaviour.
How to Report

When reporting, you can request to remain anonymous or ask that officers do not attend your address.

What Information Helps Police?
If safe to do so, please try to note:
Male or female.
Approximate age.
Ethnicity.
Height and build.
Clothing worn.
Distinctive tattoos, scars or jewellery.
Vehicle details and registration numbers.
Locations visited.
Dates and times.
Names or nicknames used.
Associates regularly seen together.
Even small pieces of information can be useful.
Estate Security
Following recent Environmental Visual Audits (EVAs), we are asking residents to:
Close communal doors and gates behind you.
Be aware of tailgating – this is where an unauthorised person follows a resident through a secure entrance without using their own access fob or key.
Only allow access to people you know or are expecting.
Report damaged doors, gates, locks and security concerns to your housing provider.
Drug Use and Anti-Social Behaviour
Where there is evidence linking drug use, nuisance, disorder or criminal behaviour to a particular address, Police and Housing Providers can consider enforcement action including Closure Orders through the courts.
Closure Orders can restrict or completely prohibit access to properties where serious anti-social behaviour, criminality or nuisance is occurring.
However, these powers require evidence, which is why resident reporting is so important.

We are committed to making residents and businesses feel safe and reducing crime and anti-social behaviour across the ward. Please continue to report concerns, no matter how small they may seem.
There is nothing worse than feeling unsafe in your own home, and by working together we can build the evidence needed to take action against those causing harm within our community.
