Swift Arrest Following Theft and Criminal Damage in Brixton

While on patrol in Brixton Road, officers from the local Neighbourhood Policing Team witnessed a suspect who had just committed a theft from a local shop. As officers moved to intervene, the suspect violently smashed a window of the premises before attempting to make off from the scene.

Officers immediately gave chase on foot and, following a short pursuit, the suspect was detained and arrested. We would also like to thank a member of the public whose assistance helped officers prevent the suspect from escaping.
