Here’s a quick update on anti-social behaviour locally. We know it can be distressing, but we’re working closely with partners to make the area safer and support residents. Being a Good Neighbour: Preventing Anti-Social Behaviour
Everyone has the right to feel safe and enjoy their home without unnecessary disturbance. Most neighbour disputes can be prevented by showing consideration for those living around us. Common issues that can lead to complaints include: 🔊 Noise Nuisance
Keep music, televisions, and other devices at a reasonable volume. Be mindful of noise late at night and early in the morning. Let neighbours know in advance if you are planning a gathering or carrying out noisy work.
🐕 Pets
Ensure pets are kept under control and do not cause excessive noise or nuisance. Clean up after your pets and keep dogs on a lead in communal areas when required.
🏘️ Communal Areas
Dispose of rubbish responsibly. Keep hallways, stairwells, and shared spaces free from obstructions. Ensure visitors and children respect neighbours and shared facilities.
🔥 Fire Safety
Barbecues on balconies can present a serious fire risk and may not be permitted. Follow local housing and fire safety guidance at all times.
Experiencing Problems With a Neighbour? Many disputes can be resolved through a polite and respectful conversation. Your neighbour may not realise their behaviour is affecting others. If the issue continues and is causing harassment, alarm, distress, or persistent nuisance, it may be considered anti-social behaviour. Reporting Anti-Social Behaviour If you are affected by ongoing anti-social behaviour:
Keep a record of incidents, including dates and times. Report concerns to your housing provider or local authority Waltham Forest ASB team or Waltham Forest noise team. Contact police via 101 for non-emergency ASB issues. Always call 999 in an emergency or if a crime is in progress.
By working together and showing consideration for one another, we can help keep our neighbourhoods safe, respectful, and welcoming places to live. #SaferNeighbourhoods #RespectYourNeighbours #ASBAwareness #CommunitySafety
Across London we’ve put hundreds more officers on the frontlines of community crime-fighting teams, upping visible patrols in the right ‘hot spots’ so we can deter and catch criminals - including with new tech like live facial recognition cameras, drones and e-bikes. Antisocial behaviour can come in many forms and can require support from more organisations than just the police. A full list of what we categorise as antisocial behaviour is available on our website. If you have experienced anti-social behaviour or have information regarding an incident, please report it using our online reporting tools at https://www.met.police.uk or call the non-emergency number 101.
