The Wigan Neighbourhood Team has received an increase in reports relating to the anti-social use of motorbikes in the Kitt Green area.
As a result, officers have increased patrols in the locality. During proactive patrols, officers sighted a motorbike which subsequently failed to stop and made off from police. An area search was conducted and the motorbike was later located abandoned nearby. The vehicle has since been recovered.
Checks are currently being carried out to establish the owner of the motorbike and enquiries remain ongoing.
Off-road bikes continue to be a persistent issue affecting many of our communities. Through Operation Handbrake, Greater Manchester Police is committed to tackling the anti-social and dangerous use of these vehicles and taking positive action where offences are identified.
We would like to thank members of the public for their continued support. Reports and intelligence from the community are vital in helping us identify offenders, target hotspot locations and take action.
If you have information about the anti-social use or storage of off-road bikes, please report it via: 📞 101 💻www.gmp.police.uk 📞 Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111
Working together, we can make our communities safer.
