World Drowning Prevention Day |
||
|
Hi Residents,
The 25th July is World Drowning Prevention Day a global awareness day dedicated to highlighting the importance of water safety and preventing drowning incidents.
With the warmer weather people tend to spend more time near rivers, canals, lakes, reservoirs and the beach but it's important to remember that water can be extremely dangerous and unpredictable.
The RNLI are working hard to raise awareness around water safety:
✅ Float to Live if you find yourself unexpectedly in the water: ✅ Always supervise children near water. ✅ Avoid entering the water after drinking alcohol. ✅ Take note of local safety signs and warnings. ✅ If you see someone in difficulty in the water, call 999
Drowning can happen quickly and silently, but many incidents are preventable through awareness and education.
Please take a moment today to learn the RNLI's lifesaving advice and share it with family and friends. For more water safety information, visit: www.rnli.org
