Road Safety |

We have received ongoing concerns about speeding on roads across Wardleworth, including Yorkshire Street, Milkstone Road, Entwisle Road, South Parade, Whitworth Road and the surrounding residential streets. Please be aware that mobile speed enforcement vans are active in the area and speed checks can take place at any time.
Exceeding the speed limit puts lives at risk and can result in penalty points, substantial fines, increased insurance costs and, in the most serious cases, disqualification from driving. Speed limits are in place to protect everyone using our roads, including pedestrians, cyclists, children and other motorists.
With road works and temporary traffic management in place across parts of Rochdale, drivers are reminded to pay close attention to changing speed restrictions, signage and diversions. Road layouts can change quickly and failing to adjust your speed can increase the risk of collisions.
We also continue to receive reports of drivers using mobile phones whilst behind the wheel. Using a handheld mobile phone while driving is illegal and can have serious consequences, including penalty points, fines and prosecution. A moment's distraction can have life changing consequences.
Residents are encouraged to report persistent speeding, dangerous driving or other road safety concerns through Greater Manchester Police. Information from the community helps identify problem locations and supports enforcement activity.
Please drive responsibly, obey the speed limits and help keep Wardleworth's roads safe for everyone. Your actions behind the wheel can make a real difference in preventing collisions and protecting lives.
