I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Nuisance Vehicle use, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey. On 23rd July Officers from Lisburn City and Rural Neighbourhood Policing Team, supported by our Probationary Support Unit conducted an operation targeting the ILLEGAL use of escooters and ebikes. Several persons were stopped and a number of reports will be prepared to the public prosecution service, as well as scooters being seized. Several parents were also spoken to and educated in the use of these devices. We will continue to target such activity where and when possible. The use of motorised vehicles such as scramblers, go-peds, buzz boards, quads and mini-motos as a leisure activity can be both exciting and fun, however, as with most outdoor activities the use of these vehicles can in some circumstances be dangerous. E-scooters and the Law E-scooters, scramblers, go-peds, buzz boards, quads and mini-motos do not generally comply with construction and use legislation and vehicle standards so are therefore, restricted to off-road use only.
