Volkswagen Badge Thefts

We would like to make residents aware of recent  thefts involving Volkswagen (VW) front badges/emblems, particularly from VW Golf, Passat and other newer VW models.

Criminals are targeting these badges because they contain sensors used for driver assistance systems such as adaptive cruise control. The theft of the badge can cause significant damage to the vehicle and may result in costly repairs.

How to Protect Your Vehicle

✅ Park in a secure, well-lit location where possible.
✅ Consider using a garage or monitored parking facility.
✅ Ensure any CCTV or doorbell cameras covering your vehicle are operational.
✅ Report any suspicious activity, especially individuals loitering near parked vehicles during late evening or early morning hours.
✅ If your badge has been stolen, report the incident to the police and your insurance provider promptly.
