Crime Prevention Advice – Cold Calling and other Scam Fraud Awareness

Dear East Putney residents,

There have been recent concerns made to the East Putney Safer Neighbourhood Team about individuals going door to door and offering services in an attempt to sell fake or faulty goods, offer services such as repair or cleaning of roof tiles or pathways or to gather information about your property or yourself.

Please be aware of anyone coming to your property to offer these services and take the steps to help prevent any incidents from happening to you or your property. Some advice we can give now is to:

Never provide personal details to someone who claims to be from a service provider or your bank, who has shown up unexpectedly.

Check your door peephole or video doorbell’s camera, if you own one, who is at your door and how many people are present.

Do not answer any phone calls from unknown numbers.
