Just a reminder after the ‘tips for keeping your home safe this summer’, email don't forget:

Many burglaries and vehicle crimes happen when offenders spot an opportunity that could have been avoided with a few simple security measures.

Whether at home or on the move, taking a moment to think about security can make a real difference.

Here are a few simple steps to consider:

Lock doors and windows, even when you're at home

Keep vehicle keys and spare keys out of sight and away from doors and windows

Remove valuables from vehicles or keep them hidden from view

Consider additional vehicle security, such as a steering lock

Keep sheds, garages and side gates secure

Record serial numbers and consider property marking valuable items

Most offenders are looking for the easiest option. Small changes can help make your home and vehicle a less attractive target.

We have had a report of people ‘hanging around’ a drive in St Georges. Nothing has been taken, nonetheless please be vigilant and look out for each other.
