Hello Resident, ✅ Good News from Your Local Policing Team ✅ Summary: We've arrested multiple shoplifters for offences taking place on our town centre - shoplifting is an offence and offenders will be arrested and prosecuted. We've also been issuing CPWs (Community Protection Warnings) to beggars causing a nuisance on the town centre, banning them from the area. A CPW is a first step in dealing with local problems, which later escalates to a CPN (Community Protection Notice), which carries the power of arrest if violated. PCSO Jackson has also been in St Annes Church for a Cuppa with a Coppa on Tuesday, which saw many of you come to us for advice, and just for a general chat, which is what we love to see! The team have are also continuing to utilise our EAPCs (Electrically Assisted Pedal Cycle) to conduct patrols on our patch - this is a great way to engage with our communities and to cover ground more effectively.
🚨 Crime & Safety Updates — What You Need to Know 🚨 🔎 Recent Incidents/Trends: On 16th July, an attempt was made to break into a property on Whitebeam Road. Damage to a rear patio door was caused but no entry was made.Around 21:20 on 17th July, youths were throwing eggs at vehicles on Chelmsley Road. Damage was caused to a Hyundai vehicle.Overnight 17th/18th July, a Ford Fiesta parked on Pike Drive had the front bumper, lights and registration plate were stolen.Between 13:00 – 15:50hrs on 18th July, a male offender entered Fillingham Court and broke the lock of a room gaining entrance to possibly sleep inside.Between 17th – 21st July, a Porsche was stolen from Wardour Drive.At 09:25hrs on 23rd July, male offender smashed the front window of a property on Box Road and searched inside. This male offender was caught by Police after a foot chase.Between 17:30 & 18:20hrs on 16th July, a Ford Fiesta was stolen from the car park of North Solihull Sports Centre Conway Road.Overnight 16th/17th of July, a Renault Master Van had parts stripped from underneath whilst parked on Cambridge Drive.At 01:40hrs on 18th July, a Ford van was stolen from Clopton Crescent, Vehicle was seen leaving the road followed by a male on a E-bike. Van was later found nearby.At 01:49hrs on 20th July, a MG estate vehicle was entered on Leahill Croft and bank cards were stolen.Around 17:30hrs on 20th July, 2 boys on a bike carrying bolt cutters stole a Carrera Pedal Cycle from outside Asda Bosworth Drive.Overnight 20th/21st July, a Vauxhall Mokka was stolen from Hilleys Croft.✅ Crime Prevention Tips: 💬To help us combat theft from/of motor vehicle, please make sure your vehicle is locked, secure, and nothing of value is visible from the outside to deter opportunistic offenders from damaging your vehicle in order to get to anything you may have left in view. Prevention is key; steering locks are inexpensive and easily found in local motoring shops, or through a reliable online retailer. You should also place any keyless entry vehicle keys in a faraday pouch in order to prevent relay theft - these are also inexpensive and easily found through online retailers, or at any of our drop-in sessions where we regularly give them out.
