To celebrate Love Parks Week 2026, there will be a litter pick in Fairfield on Saturday 1 August from 2-3pm to show how parks really are the green hearts of our communities.

With litter pickers to borrow, plus sweet treats for those who take part, everyone is welcome to join in the fun.

The newly-formed Friends of Fairfield will be taking over these regular litter picks so they become part of the group’s calendar of park-related events. The great news is that they’re now ready to begin work in Fairfield, The plan is for the Friends group’s first community litter pick to then take place on Saturday 12 September (still 2-3pm), after which they’ll meet on the second Saturday of every month to help improve the park – all welcome, as ever.
