Local Neighbourhood Teams Crack Down on Off-Road Bike Nuisance Across St James', Waterhead and Surrounding Areas

Officers from the Local Neighbourhood Team, working alongside specialist resources including the Bike Unit and Drone Unit, have been carrying out targeted operations to tackle the ongoing issue of off-road bikes causing anti-social behaviour and community concerns across the St James' and Waterhead areas.

The operation focused on identifying riders using bikes illegally on public roads, open spaces and residential areas, whilst also tackling associated criminality and road safety offences.

The activity led to a significant arrest, with one individual detained for possession of a bladed article. The offender has since been charged and remanded into custody.

The operation demonstrates the commitment of neighbourhood officers and specialist teams to responding to concerns raised by local residents regarding nuisance motorcycles and off-road bikes.

We understand the frustration and concern that illegal off-road bikes can cause within our communities. The reckless use of these bikes can pose a serious risk to riders, pedestrians and other road users, whilst also creating significant anti-social behaviour issues for residents.

By working closely with our specialist Bike Unit and Drone Unit, we are able to identify offenders, gather evidence and take positive action. We will continue to carry out enforcement activity across St James', Waterhead and the wider area to target those who choose to ignore the law and negatively impact our communities.
