🚓 Braunstone & Rowley Fields Beat Team Update
Good afternoon everyone,
Here's a quick update from your local beat team today:
🔍 PCSO Julie carried out enquiries relating to a missing person investigation. 🎥 PCSO Julie was then joined by PS Craig to conduct CCTV enquiries in relation to a burglary on Collingham Road, Rowley Fields.
🏡 Summer Burglary Prevention Advice - With warmer weather and lighter evenings, please help keep your home secure by: ✅ Always lock doors and windows, even when you are in the garden or at home.
🚶 Op HABITUAL patrols have also been carried out across the beat area. OP HABITUAL is a joint initiative between Leicestershire Police and Leicestershire Fire & Rescue Service aimed at reducing deliberate fires, anti-social behaviour and associated community harm during the summer months. The operation focuses on visible engagement, prevention, reassurance and early intervention within identified hotspot locations across the NPA. 🚒 🔥
👮 PCs George, Chelsea and Paige have been busy carrying out cuckooing visits, progressing urgent crime enquiries, and completing investigative paperwork.
What is cuckooing? Cuckooing is where criminals exploit vulnerable people by taking over their home and using it as a base for illegal activity, often linked to drug dealing, organised crime, violence, or the storage of weapons. Victims are frequently targeted due to vulnerabilities such as age, mental health issues, substance misuse, or social isolation. Signs of cuckooing can include: • An increase in visitors at unusual times of the day or night. The team continues to carry out safeguarding visits and work with partner agencies to identify and protect vulnerable individuals who may be at risk.
🤝 We were also pleased to meet with Tim Deacon, the Beat Team Anti-Social Behaviour Officer from Leicester City Council, to discuss a number of ongoing community issues and partnership work within the Braunstone and Rowley Fields area. ⚖️ PCs Paige and Chelsea have also attended court this afternoon. Further updates will follow when appropriate.
Thank you to everyone who continues to engage with us and report concerns. Your information helps us make Braunstone and Rowley Fields a safer place to live and work.
Have a great evening everyone.
