Following increased reports regarding youths setting small fires in local parks and woodland, we’re asking parents and carers to speak to their children about the serious dangers of setting fires in parks, fields and woodland areas.

What may seem like harmless curiosity or a prank can quickly become a dangerous wildfire, putting lives at risk, destroying wildlife habitats, damaging property and putting a strain on emergency services, especially given this extended period of dry weather.

A simple conversation at home could prevent a devastating incident.
