OP NEBULAR ASB Update – Summer Holiday Period |
||
|
Dear Resident I wanted to provide an update regarding the ongoing work to address anti-social behaviour (ASB) within the Leisure centre/Town car park and Environmental park - PMP 4269/26. Firstly, for those who were unable to attend the recent multi-agency meeting, I have attached the notes from the meeting held on 3 July 2026, which detail the actions discussed and progress made against the current Problem Solving Plan (scroll to the bottom for the meeting notes). I am aware that over the last couple of weeks there have been further pockets of ASB within the area, particularly on the last day of term, Friday 17 July and more recently on Tuesday 21 July. Both incidents are currently being reviewed to identify any criminal offences and to ensure that any appropriate action is taken where offences are identified. Now that the summer holidays are in full swing, I fully expect there to be an increase in reports of youth-related ASB. In light of this, I will be requesting that the area is reinstated as a Hotspot Policing location for regular red route patrols, similar to those deployed when the Problem Solving Plan was first introduced during the spring. These patrols proved beneficial in increasing visibility, gathering intelligence and addressing issues at key times. I would strongly encourage all residents to remain patient and continue reporting incidents. In particular, if groups are gathering and behaving in an anti-social manner, please ensure this is reported to Kent Police via our online reporting system. Report antisocial behaviour | Kent Police As always, if you believe a crime is being committed, is about to be committed, or there is an immediate risk to people or property, please call 999. I am also currently working alongside Sevenoaks District Council to explore the implementation of Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras within the town car park. If introduced, these cameras will assist in identifying vehicles associated with nuisance motorcycle and vehicle related ASB, allowing for more effective enforcement and intervention. Please note that I will be on annual leave for a significant part of August. Whilst I will continue to monitor developments periodically where possible, day to day matters may be dealt with by my colleagues during this period.
