🚨 Suspicious Circumstances Reported in Fownhope ⚠️

We’d like to make residents aware of suspicious circumstances that took place at a residence in Fownhope at approximately 4.50pm on 26th July.

Around this time, a family returned home from a short trip away to find an unknown male on their property. The male stated that he was waiting for someone who lived at the address. He remained in the vicinity for around 20 minutes before leaving the area in a vehicle. None of the residents recognised the male or knew who he was.

Following the incident, a neighbour reported that while the family were away from the property, the same male had been seen looking through the windows of the address.

✅ Lock all doors, windows, sheds and garages.

✅ Use timer switches on lights to make your home look occupied.

✅ Ask a trusted neighbour, friend or family member to collect post and keep an eye on your property.

✅ Avoid posting holiday plans or updates on social media until you return.

✅ Consider using CCTV, a video doorbell, security lighting or an alarm system.

✅ Keep keys and valuables out of sight and in a secure location.

✅ Ensure vehicles are locked and valuables removed from view.

A home that looks occupied and well secured is less likely to be targeted by opportunist criminals.🏡✅
