Dear Members, Here’s a quick round up from the South Yardley neighbourhood policing team. We have seized 2 vehicles for no tax, 2 vehicles seized for being stolen and issued 13 tickets for parking offences this week. This week we also conducted a warrant at a location that was suspected to be involved in being a chop shop. It is important we note, we are unable to do these without your reports and calls being made to us informing us of what you are seeing near your home or place of work. If you see something suspicious in the area, please report this using the below methods, you never know if we are already looking at a particular location and your information may just assist us further in being able to get a warrant from the courts. Our DNO conducted a walk around Berkeley Road and Berkeley Road East with Cllr Atikur Rahman, discussing concerns and issues within the area and understanding how we can work together in partnership to tackle any ASB or crime within the area. We will continue this with all local Cllr’s in the area to assist all that work and live within South Yardley. We recognise that we all must come together to get things done promptly and effectively. Our next Community Event will be in Oaklands Recreational Grounds on Wednesday 26th August from 10am – 3pm. We have WMP Horses, Traffic, South Yardley NHT offering crime prevention and Bike tracking. We will have a mix of independent businesses involved offering a range of activities and goodies. This consists of Face Painting, Jumping castles, rides, games, food and various products. We have also asked for Birmingham City Council Housing to attend to get onsite advice and Citizen Housing. We will also be joined by our emergency partners West Midlands Fire service and West Midlands Ambulance Service. We will continue to keep you informed on all taking place in the local community.
