An update regarding ASB in Purley Town Centre

Dear Resident,

Last week, I outlined the issues we were experiencing with antisocial behaviour, robberies and drug offences in Purley Town Centre.

Over the past week, our plan to tackle these issues has started to have a positive impact:

The number of antisocial behaviour reports in Purley Town Centre has decreased.

The number of large groups gathering in the town centre is lower than the previous week.

There were no reported robberies in Purley and Woodcote Ward.

A number of young people who are involved in antisocial behaviour have been identified and taken home to their parents.

We are working closely with Croydon Council to address some of the environmental factors that may be attracting antisocial behaviour.

Croydon Council's Park Guard Rangers are supporting us with patrols. They are a uniformed patrol team with Police Accredited powers.

We will continue to deliver on our plan, alongside extended patrols over the coming weeks.

There is still more to do, and we are looking at other solutions that will help address these issues. I will provide further updates in due course.
