Nottinghamshire County Council Trading Standards Service has received reports of door knockers operating in the Beeston area, specifically on Trent Road and the surrounding areas, offering to helping residents secure the “best deal” on their energy contracts. 

Although some doorstep callers may be genuine, there are many rogue traders that operate through cold calling and door-to-door sales. If you're thinking about switching energy suppliers, ask friends, family, or neighbours about their experiences, and use a reputable comparison service or trusted energy adviser to explore your options.

Be cautious of companies that offer to arrange a switch on your behalf for a fee. In most cases, you can compare tariffs and switch suppliers yourself for free. Before agreeing to any service, make sure you understand what you're paying for and whether it offers any genuine benefit.

Always ensure the company you choose is reputable and authorised to supply energy. Read the terms and conditions carefully before agreeing to a new contract and be wary of high-pressure sales tactics or deals that seem too good to be true.
