Appeal following incident involving a dog in Plymouth

We are appealing for the public’s assistance to identify the man pictured after an elderly man sustained serious injuries after a dog jumped up at him at the weekend.

The incident took place at around 9.15am on Saturday 1 August near The Sundial on Armada Way, Plymouth.

It was reported that the 79-year-old man had been walking in the area when he was jumped at by a large black dog which was not on a lead, causing him to fall and sustain a serious head injury.

He remains in hospital.

Officers investigating the incident have obtained a CCTV image of a man who they believe may be able to assist with enquiries.

We are keen to hear from the man pictured or anybody who may be able to identify him, as well as anyone present at the scene, or with relevant footage, who has not yet spoken to police.
