Rural Crime Alert - Please be vigilant

Sadly, the Derbyshire Dales areas are currently experiencing a series of thefts and break-ins targeting farms, small holdings, outbuildings, and rural properties.

⚠️ Please remain vigilant and take steps to secure your property to deter criminals.
 

Recent incidents have taken place on the early hours of the dates mentioned:

•     Earl Sterndale - 01/08/26 
Quad Bike stolen from locked garage on farm

•    Hurdlow - 02/08/26

Farm outbuildings entered and cash tin stolen along with food items

•    Hartington – 03/08/26 
Outbuilding entered and items taken 
Reference: 26*462828

Please consider following the following Security Advice:
•    Lock all buildings, vehicles, and machinery when not in use
•     Remove keys and secure fuel stores
•     Install CCTV, alarms, and motion lighting where possible
•    Use property marking and tracking devices on equipment
•    Report suspicious vehicles or individuals immediately
•     Work with neighbours – rural communities are strongest together
