There’s just one week to go until our community fun day event taking place at People’s Park, Halifax – and you’re all invited!
This is a family-friendly, free and engaging event in the summer holidays, running from 10am to 4pm on Thursday 13th August.
There will be: Activities and crafts for children and young people including a scavenger hunt and balance bikes.A host of emergency service vehicles, equipment and staff.Interactive road safety activities and educational stalls.Free bike safety checks and minor repairs from a qualified bike mechanic as well as bike marking to help protect bikes and support recovery if they are lost or stolen.
The event will provide an opportunity to learn more about West Yorkshire Vision Zero work to reduce all road deaths and serious injury in the county to zero by 2040.

Design a road safety poster and win shopping vouchers
Help us to raise awareness of road safety in Calderdale!
Young people are invited to take part in our road safety poster competition for the chance to win a local gift voucher – a fantastic activity during the holidays.
Select one of our road safety themes to inspire your poster, get creative. and submit the entry via email or post it to us.
The winners will be announced, and presented their prizes, at our community road safety Vision Zero event at People’s Park, Halifax on Thursday 13 August.
