Rogue Traders

Hello all

Following on from my many messages about Rogue Traders this one is an appeal to friends and family of elderly/vulnerable friends and relatives.

The Romney Marsh tends to get targeted by Rogue Traders due to it having a large population of elderly ladies and gentlemen.

Many of the Rogue Traders don't appear to have a moral compass and therefore will target the elderly who are quite often vulnerable as well.

My appeal to friends and family of the more mature amongst us and especially if they live alone, is to speak with them and remind them not to employ cold callers to do work on their properties no matter how much of a bargain the verbal quote may seem and to consider having CCTV installed if not already done so.

Any one of us could be targeted by cold callers and Rogue Traders wanting to rip us off but in my experience it is normally the age group as described above.

I am not suggesting for one moment that the elderly are incapable of looking after their own affairs but too many are still accepting to have work done on their properties by these unscrupulous characters and then regretting it afterwards because they have forked out lots of money unnecessarily to have, quite often shoddy work carried out.
