Man arrested following proactive operation in Willington

A man has been arrested on suspicion of indecent exposure following a proactive police operation.

Police received a report that a man had indecently exposed himself at Danish Camp, Chapel Lane, Willington, at around 5.30am on July 15. Officers have been carrying out proactive patrols in the area since.

Yesterday morning (Wednesday), during one of the operations, officers arrested a man in his 50s for questioning. He has since been bailed with conditions.

Sergeant Barry Mason said: “We understand incidents of this nature can be concerning for members of the public, and we are continuing to carry out additional patrols in the area.

“We would like to encourage anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious or experienced a similar incident to come forward and report it to us.”
