CORRECTION: Image released as part of investigation into an assault in Portsmouth

Officers investigating an assault in Portsmouth are appealing for witnesses and information and releasing an image of a man they would like to speak to. 

We received a report that between 1am and 1:30am on Saturday 11 July, two men had been talking at the benches near to the HMS Victory on The Hard, when they were assaulted by three other men. 

One of the men had his fingers fractured during the incident.

The three men, who left the area in the direction of Queens Street, have been described as follows:

We are releasing an image of a man who was in the area at the time and may be able to assist with our enquiries.

If you recognise this man, or have any information which could assist our enquiries, including relevant CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage from the area, please report this to us.

Officers are also keen to speak to the second man who was assaulted, who has yet to be identified.
