⚠️ Community Warning - Rogue Doorstep Sellers

Dear Resident

We have received several reports of  two males going door-to-door claiming to be from a fencing/ building company. Residents have reported that work was completed to a poor standard, with large amounts of debris left behind. It has since transpired that the individuals were not employed by the company they claimed to represent and cannot now be contacted.

To help protect yourself:

✅ Do not agree to buy goods or services from doorstep sellers.
✅ Always check the identity and credentials of any trader.
✅ Obtain quotes from reputable local companies before agreeing to any work.
✅ Never pay upfront for work or services.
✅ Be wary of pressure tactics or offers that seem too good to be true.
✅ If you are unsure, speak to family members, neighbours or trusted friends before making any decisions.

Please look out for vulnerable neighbours who may be targeted by rogue traders and please share this message on your local community groups 

If you have concerns about suspicious doorstep sellers in your area, report them to Northamptonshire Police via 101 or online. If a crime is in progress or there is an immediate risk, call 999.

Stay vigilant and don't be pressured into making decisions on your doorstep.
