South Acton Ward Update

Firstly, I would like to apologise for the lack of updates over recent weeks from myself specifically. We understand how important it is for residents to feel engaged, informed, and connected to the work being carried out in their community. While updates have been quieter than usual, please be assured that the team has been working tirelessly behind the scenes throughout the summer period.

A significant focus of our recent work has been tackling issues around drug use, drug dealing, and street drinking across the Acton area. Alongside this, officers have continued to carry out proactive patrols, investigations, and enforcement activity aimed at keeping South Acton safe.

Some notable results from the last two weeks include:

🚔 Machete Arrest Following Police Pursuit
Officers arrested a male after he attempted to evade police on a moped in the Mill Hill Road area. Following a foot chase, he was detained on Woodlands Avenue and found to be in possession of a machete.

🚗 Vehicle Seized on Avenue Road
Only a few days later, officers seized a vehicle on Avenue Road as part of our ongoing efforts to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour.

🔪 Weapons Recovered From Vehicle
Some residents may have witnessed officers forcing entry into another vehicle on Avenue Road last week. This action led to the recovery of multiple machetes and other illegal items. Enquiries remain ongoing, and investigations into those involved are progressing.

🏍️ Motorcycle Seized Following Anti-Social Riding
As recently as yesterday, officers seized a high-powered motorcycle under Section 59 powers after it was being ridden anti-socially through Acton Park.

These are just a few examples of the work being carried out by your local policing team. Alongside proactive operations, officers continue to manage a number of investigations, intelligence-led operations, and case files that often take place out of public view but are essential to tackling crime and protecting our community.

We remain committed to being as visible and accessible as possible within South Acton. However, during the August period, the team has been subject to a number of abstractions across West Area policing, which can sometimes limit the amount of time we are able to spend directly on the ward.

Despite these demands, our commitment to South Acton remains unchanged. We will continue to do everything we can to ensure residents feel heard, informed, and protected, and we will make every effort to provide more regular updates moving forward.
