Distraction Burglary Near You -Catherine Street

Dear Resident

You are receiving this as you live in the vicinity of a Distraction burglary that occurred on Catherine Street, Keighley.

Incident Date/Time: Saturday 8 August 2026, approximately 11:20am

A resident reported a distraction burglary/theft after being approached at their home by a male offering gardening services.

The male knocked at an open rear door and offered to carry out gardening work. The resident advised they wished to wait until their partner returned home before making a decision and directed the male to the front of the property.

A short time later, the male stated he was going to collect his tools. After remaining at the front of the property for several minutes, the resident returned inside and discovered that a purse containing cash and a bank card had been stolen. Further checks revealed that a Nintendo Switch games console and a mobile phone had also been taken from inside the property.

Suspect Description:

No vehicle or associates were seen.

If you have any information in relation to the above please contact the Police on 101 or speak to a local PCSO. Please also check your CCTV or Doorbell camera if you have one during the crime timings to see if there are any activations.
